About

Simverk is an independent specialist practice working with engineering and industrial organizations on simulation, reliability and engineering decision problems.

The person behind Simverk

Sean Reed

Founder

Simverk is founded and run by Sean Reed, who handles each engagement personally: the modelling, the analysis and the software development.

He holds a PhD in Aeronautical Engineering and has decades of experience across simulation modelling, system RAMS (reliability, availability, maintainability and safety) modelling, and software development. In practice that spans discrete-event and agent-based simulation, survival analysis, cross-platform desktop software for Windows, Linux and macOS, web applications, machine learning, and building the tooling that lets LLM agents operate engineering models. Most projects draw on more than one of these, which is usually the point: the modelling, the statistics and the software that delivers them are handled by the same person.

Methods and technologies

The method is chosen to fit the question, not the other way round. Simverk builds on open-source foundations rather than licensed simulation platforms, so there is no platform licence to buy and your own engineers can maintain what is delivered.

Methods

Discrete-event simulation
Agent-based simulation
Reliability and availability modelling
Survival analysis
Machine learning
LLM tool integration

Technologies

Python

SimPy
Salabim
JaamSim
Avalonia (desktop apps)
Django (web apps)
scikit-learn and PyTorch
llama.cpp (local LLM inference)
MCP (Model Context Protocol)

Working together

Simverk takes on scoped projects with a defined deliverable, and hands over the models, source code and documentation at the end so your own engineers can carry the work forward.
